The Race to the South Pole

Map “The Race to the South Pole” is a device which tells the story of the race between the expeditions of the Norwegian Roald Amundsen and Briton Robert Scott to the South Pole.

On the front side through interaction by the user position of expeditions at different moments, temperature and height parameters and events can be explored.

The back side contains an overview map, where territories known at the time of the expeditions are shown as highlighted areas.
